Solid gains, bro: Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman GTS turn up the power

Porsche’s 718 Boxster and Cayman roadster and coupe couple have been to the gym. These new GTS models are now the top end of the baby Porsche range, and they’re on sale now.
The new 718 GTS cars follow in the footsteps of the 911 GTS, so there’s a bit more bhp, plus some bespoke interior details and more performance parts as standard.

Give me some specifics

Six-pot purists will have to look elsewhere; the 718 GTS cars still use four-pot power here, but power from the 2.5-litre flat-four is now up to 360bhp (15bhp more than an S) and 332lb ft of torque. A manual six-speeder is standard, but you can optionally spec a seven-speed PDK.
The 0-62mph launch is dealt with in just 4.1 seconds and a GTS-spec 718 in either format can hit 180mph.

What else do I get for my money?

Standard GTS kit includes a mechanical limited-slip differential, Porsche’s torque vectoring and Sport Chrono Pack (which grants you a stopwatch on top of the dash) and the brand’s Active Suspension Management system.
More superficially, GTS 718s feature tinted head and rear lights, a sports exhaust as standard and 20-inch black wheels.
Porsche 718 GTS interior
As any GTS car should (we’re looking at you, 911 GTS), the sports seats and interior are trimmed with a healthy dose of alcantara, and Porsche’s ‘Track Precision App’ can record your track day laps and driving data straight to your phone.

When can I get a 718 GTS?

You can order both the 718 Boxster and Cayman GTS models now, with deliveries arriving in mid-December 2017. The Cayman is priced from £59,866, while the Boxster is a smidge more at £61,727.
